Yamaha trim/tilt brush.

Hi guys!
First, sorry for the poor english....im from Denmark, bear with me ;-)

Im in need of a few parts 6H1438911000 & 6H1438921000 and was wondering if any of you guys ever replaced them, with "non-original" parts? And if so, where you bought them? I found the parts on a quite a few internet shops, but i find the parts being overpriced and was hopeing to find a alternative. The 2 brushes would cost (the cheapest place I found them) around 130 USD plus another 50 USD in shipping :-( Hope some of you guys replaced them a one point and can give me some pointers....

I'm no expert on motors/brushes, but maybe take the motor to an electric motor repair shop for some good advice, maybe some brushes/repairs at a reasonable price. Or you may be able to find a new or rebuilt motor on-line somewhere. Good luck and let us know your progress!

what motor is this for?
What is the problem with the unit you have?

Brushes are a lot cheaper by themselves but will brushes fix your problem?

its for a 60hp from 2001 my best guess is the brushes! I have tryed giving the motor power directly on the blue and green wires from the motor, but nothing happens! The trim progressively got worse and worse.....within a couple of days the trim wasnt working at all, all i get is the "click" from the relay.....

Maybe remove, inspect and clean all electrical connections associated with your tilt motor to be sure if corrosion/bad contact may be causing your problem. It's doubtful the motor brushes are warn out in a 10 year old motor, but maybe? Maybe a bad relay? Good Luck!

I have no idea, how many years the brushes should be able to opperate?! But like i said the motor dosent do anything when powered up! Already checked the relays, they should be working

There is a fuse inside the motor that will pop if too much juice is pulled .
May have water or rust inside motor. I recommend pulling and opening it up to see what is going on.
