Is there a website that you can use to find the year of your engine by using the numbers on the serial number plate?

Go to http://www.yamaha-motor.com/ and there is chart to decode model #'s. Also give em' a call they are very helpful............good luck!

^^^^What he said. Very nice and knowledgeable people, I wish all customer service could be like that. There should be a tag on the right side of the motor with 4 digits indicate the month and year of manufactured.

Thanks for the help.
This engine has a power trim unit installed and I think the attachment plate covered up the manufacture date.
I called Yamaha as suggested and they helped me with the year.
