Please help to find reason and sorry for my poor English.Yamaha F50 AETL,year 1996.Difficult to start when warm. Can start when the neutral throttle lever is fully open only.Always gasoline smell and sometimes gasoline spots in water after that.
And very interesting moment:always very easy to start when engine cover is removed!!!
When start accelerate can hear detonation some times and engine runs unevenly.Difficult to adjust the idling.
Changed all spark plugs, changed all 4 needles in carburator, change one float in carburator.

need special vacuum gauges to set carbs after reinstalling, but seem you have more that one problem.
Probably best to take it to a yamaha shop that has Yamaha trained techs
