I currently have a 2003 SeaPro SV2100 with a 2-stroke Yamaha Saltwater series 2 200 and a "Bobs" jack plate on it. I am purchasing a 2007 Tide Water that will be rigged to my specs from the factory. My question is after having the 200 2-stroke, will the 150 four stroke make the boat seem under-powered? Is the horsepower difference equatable to just speed? I have heard that the four strokes are somewhat more sluggish than the two strokes. Is that true? Should I spend the extra money for the 200 four stroke (It's about a $4000 upgrade)?

I guess what I would like to know is if I'm taking one step forward and two steps back if I get the four stroke 150 instead of the 200.

Which ever motor I get it will have a (Bobs) jack plate. The new boat will also have a T-top versus my Sea Pro which does not.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
