Yamaha F115 bubbled metal behind oil filter

I was changing the oil and filter on my F115 today and I noticed what looks like corrosion in the cavity where the filter screws on. The metal is rough and looks bubbled. I tried to get a photo, but it's hard to see. The area is outlined in red. Had anyone seen this before?

Yeah. I’ve recently seen this very thing on a selva engine. Same engine as this, I’m sure. Was blistered all around the top end too. That engine was a commercial used thing and ran at near full throttle most of the time.

It’s running fine, so I guess it’s a wait and see approach.

maybe do an oil analysis and see what shows up.
