I have a 1989 Yamaha 130HP motor. Starts up great, runs a little ruff. When I push throttle forward it hesitates to go but eventually goes. After a little time running about a minute or two the alarm starts buzzing from control box. And the engine shakes and loses RPMS and runs bad. I will then put it in nuetral and rev it up a little and after about 20 seconds the motors starts running better and the alarm stops. Can anyone help?

Re: Yamaha Buzzer alarm help please

Need to find out if this alarm is oil level or overheat to start out with.
Do you have gauges that will indicate these alarms?

when was the last time you changed the water pump thermostats and PRV?
They are normal maintenance items.

If motor runs kind of rough and hesitates then you need to take care of that before it causes some major problems with the motor . If it is running lean on one or more cylinders because of carb problems it will eat pistons and cylinders

When the alarm buzzes, the oil guage still reads full. I dont know how to check these or even know what I need to check them. The water pump seems to be working fine. Nice stream of water.
