I know this subject has been around before but I have a question that needs another opinion because I've debated myself so much that I lost all sense. Twin 2006 Yamaha 250 4 stroke I'm going from 2 batt. to 4 batt.(I know over kill, more weight, etc.)I want to use the Aux charging ports for the 2 house batt. so when I pulled the 2 battery switches off I found that that the Aux where connected to the main posts in the switches so that means that the main engine battery cable and the Aux. wire are both charging the same battery (both engines, 1 Aux. ,1 main on the same post on each switch. This seemed kind of funky to me so now I've been way over thinking why? My goal is to let the main cable charge the starting batt. and the Aux. charge the house batt. All 4 battery's charging all the time(running on the start batt. and the house is still being charged. my question is am I thinking this is correct. I also have a simple on/off switch to run between the to main switches just in case.

Yammy's are sooooo ahead of the game here with built-in dual iso'd (Liquid cooled 35A total?, think these are Main = 20A, Aux = 15A common ground) output rec/reg's! AND, running/using a stator that is 3 phase for their charge winding to boot as well?.....Jealous!!

Guessing Shindengen's proprietary series rec/reg's for mag's....Good stuff, very efficient!!

So with 2 engines and dual rec/reg's and 4 batts comes many ways to skin a cat, think I'd go this way...

Thanks, I got it figured out. It's really a great set up, 1st boat I've owned with outboards so I spent a lot of time second guessing myself
