Hi all!
I bought a Sailboat this week, a Dehler Sprinta. It came with a Yamaha Engine (Year around '90), 9.9hp 4 stroke with electrical start. The owner told me there was frost damage with the engine, the upper case is severely cracked on the backside. I have been reading about salt crystal buildup in this topic;

This is all I could find online about the subject, I couldn't find anything related to frost damage with a crack like this. Would this be fixable with JB weld? Or is it important enough to replace the whole casing. I have been looking for this part, this engine (and parts) seems to be rather scarce compared to it's newer brother.
I will add some pictures, I'm very curious about your thoughts on how something like this came about and possible ways to fix it and get going again
. I haven't tried starting it yet, not sure if that's a good idea in this stage.
Help is very much appreciated!
