Yamaha 15a 2 stroke info help

I received a Yamaha 2 stroke for next to nothing. I’m trying to find parts for it but I’ve had no luck. The tag says “Yamaha Enduro 15A” serial number is 662 L 32336. According to Yamaha parts catalog it doesn’t list a 15a model and doesn’t go back before 1984. Im not sure what I’m missing here.

they did not ship Yamahas over here until 84 so probably look at a web site not here in the USA

Appears to be a 1975 model year motor. Distributed outside of the USA. As noted, Yamaha did not selling motors here in the states until 1984.

Mercury sold similar models that were made by Yamaha. What parts that remain available might work on your motor.

Thank you all for your replies. Mercury sold an identical model parts-wise and designation-wise under the Mariner branding. I’m not sure where this guy came from or how it got here.

Yamaha ships motors all over the world. Under the Yamaha brand, under the Mariner brand, under the Marathon and under the Mercury brand. Perhaps under some other brands.

The information about a 662 model that I provided above is from Mercury Marine.
