I have a 2001 yamaha 150 2 stroke carb motor and last year started running rough had a tech look at and told me to rebuild carbs and would fix problem..I did and it fixed problem and now same thing and repeated and ran great for 3 miles and running flat and won't idle..It seems like it is fouling plugs out but not sure what else to do...If anyone can help with ideas would be great..Thanks.

If your fuel tank/fuel system is contaminated with old or dirty fuel then clean carbs will plug back up quickly. Maybe install a fuel/water separator type canister filter to help remove water or debris. Maybe drain old contaminated gas, clean tank, refill with fresh gas, replace old deteriorating fuel lines and primer bulb. Good Luck!:)

How old is the fuel in the tank? I would drain each carb onto a clean white rag to inspect for water/debris in the float chambers. Should be a drain screw or bolt on the bottom/side of each carb. Have you run Stabil or Seafoam fuel stabilizer in your fuel?....may need to start doing that, as fuel degrades/gets old quickly with the ethanol and additives in it. How did your carbs look when you cleaned them?

The fuel is probably 6 months old with alittle new fuel added to it and I always use seafoam..The gas in the carbs was dirty and the bottom carb had alittle gel starting..I'm going to drain the tank and let the carbs soak over night in a cleaner tank and see if that helps..

fuel can go bad in 6 months so sounds like a good plan
when you drain and flush tank make sure you flush the lines and pump as anything hiding in there will end up in the cleaned carbs when fired back up

Well I rebuilt the carbs and drained the fuel , replaced the gas lines and seems to run normal again..It is very hard to start so I might have messed something up or maybe I need to change the plugs..Thanks for the help..

Do a Google search on "polishing fuel".
