Yamaha 130 oil tank

1999 yamaha 130 v4 oil injected. What is this capped off pipe on the bottom of the engine oil tank? I see one oil hose that comes from the remote tank and 1 hose out the bottom of the engines tank going to oil pump. Not sure what the other capped nipple is for on the bottom of this tank?

Nevermind I see other motors have the same thing with that nipple capped off. Not sure what thats all about but feel better knowing this was yamahas doing not the previous owner

It is a sight sump.

Was clear at one time. Any debris that might have found its way to the main tank hopefully settles at the bottom of that tube. And then be seen by the user.

It is also the means by which the main oil tank can be easily drained.
