wrong impeller? what motor do i really have?

hey guys

Im really confused and need your help. I ordered a new impeller kit for my 1987 bayliner capri bowrider with a force 125 engine. when i ordered it from ebay it said the kit fit 1987-89 force 125 "d" models. i couldnt find any other so i ordered it, but its not right. the impeller and gaskets are bigger then what i had in my motor and it seems the impeller is taller then the stock one. the part number on the box says sierra 18-3251d. i looked up the impeller on iboats tonight and it lists a 1989 force 125 L drive only. is my motor not a 1987? is it a 125? it says on the cover it is and the spark plugs are right for a 125. any help would be great.

Modelnumber please and it will be easier to identify.
I think you have ordered a kit to a Mercuy design impellerhouse. In that time 1989-90 Mercury put Mercuryparts on the Force engines.
If you have a LU with single exhaust design, a impellerkit for Chrysler 3-4cyl. engines will fit.

120 was made in 1990 and later.

Some of the helldrives used a different impeller.F523065-1 Should be the one.
Some parts guys will give you a Merc.impeller.Looks the same just bigger and taller.

hey guys, thanks for the help. the model number i have is 1251x7b and right below that it says hp 125 with my max rpm info.

hey roscoe i see the impeller that you found. that must be it, whats the difference between l drive and plain old 125? is it the lenght of bottom end?

Your model number 1251x7b indicates 1987

L-drive is not an outboard.

It is an outboard powerhead, mounted inside the boat extending thru the bottom of the hull, then connected to something that looks like an outdrive.
