Would you drill a hole in your boat?

If you have a battery already, test how a pump works before drilling a hole. If you don't like messing with it or it doesn't work well then drill a hole.

Every boat should have a pump regardless. My .02.

I have thought about this as well. I did bail it out yesterday when I pulled the motor went to the shop and replaced the impeller. It did not take long but today it's got about 3-4 gallons in it again. With a plug I can just leave it out and tipped nose high and water be gone.

You aren't going to pull the plug while out on the lake... (I hope) so its not going to do anything for the water that splashes in while fishing.

Sure you can. I had a 14' that had leaky rivets. I would pull the plug(technically it was screwed into the bottom of the hull) while underway and the water was sucked out. Worked great.....
