IF that's the type of boat you are looking for, then by all means, go for it!

We've got a local boat for sale...17ft Sylvan with no motor and the crappiest trailer you've ever seen, though the boat is worn and very distressed looking, it's very solid....but the guy wants $750 for the package, with no motor!

Better jump on that, but be aware it's an early to mid-60's Texas Maid. They came stock with OMC 40 hp Big Twins...that Evinrude looks like a 61-64 model, but may be wrong. They are tough boats and make good resto rides. I wouldn't quibble about $200...if the motor runs its worth more than that. Here's my TM resto-in-progress...pix one is how I found her, pix two is before I put her up for the winter last fall.

If you're that interested, I wouldn't haggle over 200 bucks. I'd snag it. Trust us... you'll spend just a ~little~ more than that on restoring it.

Nice find!

I totally agree, and it does look like an early 60's model, boat & big twin 40, don't dicker, if it was in my town, it would be in my yard by now! ;)
