Finally got around to working on the trailer again. Found a broken leaf. I don't think it was broken before, hard to tell from my last picture. I guess it was weak and causing the problem.

Looks like you found your problem. Supposedly arched springs laying out flat increasing distance then flipping the shackle. Might as well replace both I`d say. Then you`ll have a new axle AND springs!

Na, this happens, the bushing may need replacing, tighten up the bolts, very common issue

Yeah, the new bushings and tight bolts will fix this busted spring right up.

Yea I'm too lazy to look.......don't know why I'm having an issue,,,, DUH!
