Never been a fan of playing perimeter Hockey and the US has been doing it all tourney, against the Canadians that will not work, yeah passing was good unfortunately you don't get points for passing, Canada ruled between the dots on defense throughout the game and that spelled disaster for the US, even though US had more shots on Goal I think scoring chances were in Canada's favor, wide angle low percentage shots do not get it done at this level, especially when Canada is on its game like today, if Canada played today like it had the previous two games the US probably wins, but when Canada comes to play like they should a perimeter game fails, and I think we saw that today.

Anyway, now its time to get down to the meat of the tourney!

....Hey guys, sorry for the delay in participating....I had some company over for the game so we were occupied....watching the game of course.
Great game....really great.
I think the U.S definitely dominated for all the first period and portions of the second.
It took a while for the Canadian kids to settle down and start pressing. I wasn't too impressed with the refereeing...even the calls against the U.S players.....I think the refs were a little trigger happy there and in a game like this you don't want to either win or lose a game because of that issue.
Regardless, great game....these teams always dial it up for this event....really great to watch.
It was a tight nail biter right to the end with those 3 faceoffs in the Canadian within that last minute....hard on the nerves!!!
I'm not sure what coverage or interest in the tournament is like stateside...but up here in Canada...its everyone on deck for watching this kind of thing. Sort of the perfect time to plan a bank heist..... LOL.
Hats off to an excellent effort both the U.S and Canada....now onto the Medal round and once again....may the best team move ahead!!

This tournament always reminds me of the Masters in April.
Lots of good golf Thurs-Sat....but nothing really counts until about 4:00 pm on Sunday when the leaders reach Amen corner.....

Well, that didn't turn out very well for us in the lower 48.

BP - With the NFL playoffs upon us, that is still #1 down here along with the college football bowl games....

watch the Detroit /leafs game today guys.100,000 plus expected at the game in michigan.prediction for world juniors is Sweden will be very hard to beat.sunday for me is nfl day ,I don't move off couch or if I do its off to the garage to light a nice wood fire and watch nfl on the 50 inch plasma while killing a few wobbly pops.also like watching the bowl games too.say a quick prayer for Michael Schumacher.if for some reason Canada does not do well in the world juniors im hoping our cousins to the south of us pick up the slack.
