hey all! got a black scorpion in a sanger barefooter. i cannot get the starter to turn over. i turn the key, all the gauges come alive, i hear the fuel pump prime, then when i turn the key to start, i hear one click (coming from the computer in the back) but no start.

what ive done so far:
check battery voltage: 12.6
checked voltage to starter solenoid: 0
changed ignition switch: no difference

im thinking the neutral start switch, but what do you think?? anything else i should check?

Re: wont turn over! black scorpion

Bren,
Welcome to the forums.

Here is a great list of tips from Don S : HOW TO: Troubleshooting your engines starting system

If you follow this your scorpion will be running in no time.

A couple of suggestions, thought a scorpion only give limited options, it really helps people to add, year, model, and in some instances your serial number may be needed... these guys know their stuff, but they need to know stuff :)

Welcome, Try the attached, if it does not work (which it likely will) you can ask where it failed and we will find you a solution

Yup! Always start with the battery connections and then the cables to the ground on the block. Then the med size wires to the starter. Remove and clean all of them.

Always disconnect the ground cable to the batt before doing any electrical work.
