Hi all got a 1971 Johnson 9.5, I been going over it new points condensers, coils, and now I have a idle problem, it starts on 1st or 2nd pull now but won't idle with out me choking it, soon as I let go the choke it dies, any ideas? thanks
If it will run at rpm's above idle w/o choke, it's likely a gummed-up low speed circuit in your carb. If it won't run at any rpm w/o choking, it's likely a main jet obstruction. You should clean your carb, and replace the 5/32" fuel line from pump to carb if that's original. Good luck!
