I have seen too many Wiseco pistons still in very good to excellent condition but have loose and rocking wrist pins. What is up with this? Just took apart a Johnson 115 and three of the .044 pistons have no scuffing or signs of detonation and holding the piston I can rock the rod up and down, with normal side to side. There is a faint groove worn in the piston pin boss area. Anybody else run into this from time to time? I've seen this on 2,3 &4 cylinder engines, is this a perk from forged pistons?

I've got one now with a 0.044 piston that has slight slack in the wrist pin. Not sure if it's a wiseco though I'm going to run it till it lets loose, ha ha. It's a salt water special. I've run them like that before and had other things kill it before the rod let loose and they ran for years. Oddly enough, it's not knocking at all. You can feel it with a screwdriver though. Got 140 lbs of compression.

Glad it’s staying together for you, thanks for the share.
