wiring question

Hi im working on a 69 evinrude 115. I just put this motor on my boat and have not had it running. There is a wire that I am trying to figure out where it goes. There are two wires. One is yellow coming from the sensor (electronic points) under the flywheel and the other is red and is not connected to anything under the flywheel. They are both coming out together from under the flywheel to a connector then to the pulse pack. Any help would be great..Thanks!!

That doesn't match the wiring diagram. There should be two black & white wires connecting the sensor and pulse pack, and two yellow wires (one has a gray stripe) connecting the alternator stator to the rectifier. A third (red) wire connects the rectifier to the terminal strip, then on to the battery cable at the starter solenoid.
