My phone won't let me post pictures it may be a force also. Either way it's a 1989 85hp force. The trigger only has three wires and a ground. The diagram I'm going buy on the boat shows six wires. Someone in this forum mentioned it is most likely a aftermarket trigger. All my magnets look good and I tack there's no burnt spots on the stator. All wires are in good shape. I added extra grounds. Swapped #2and #3 coils still only fires on #2. The engine starts and runs good idles ok just only firing on one cylinder. I'm new to working on boat engines. Im sure that I'm wiring this thing up wrong is the reason it's not firing just can't seem to figure it out. I'm also not to handy with electrical but I do have a digital volt meter. Would say I don't know how to use it just not very confident with my results as I haven't used one much. If someone knows how to wire this up or has a similar setup any help would be appreciated. I searched the internet and nothing I can find is close to the strip I have. Thank I. Advanced

I'm trying to get this running and put it on my 17' Bayliner Capri. The moter is now on a 16' Bayliner maxxum. I want to get it right before I do the swap. Also I've unhooked the kill switch and the recitifier still the same. I can leave the two wires coming for trigger for #1and #2 unhooked and it still runs the same.

I checked and cleaned all connections but haven't replaced any parts. Due to $$$$ just don't want to and can't afford to just throw parts at it. I don't mind if I know it will fix it though

If it were me id replace all connections or at least really inspect them as I had an issue where a couple wires pulled right out of the connections and one even looked ok but was riding in the sleeve only held in by the pressure from its own bend. Did you use the CDI troubleshooting guides at all?? They’re not that difficult to do even when being new at this; just gotta wrap your head around it. In my case; being new as well at the time, the continuity setting on the voltmeter helped immensely just in tracing wires back and forth to make sure all was not cut, twisted and rubbing from owners pulling stuff through the boat. Also look up mastertechmarine

There are definitely wires I would replace just by the looks of things-

Replace all that throws a flag up then do the cdi trouble shooter-trust me it helps and listen to the many great experts here but most of all be patient
