Re: wiring diagram

Try to find the wiring diaghram at the maxrules.com web site. Most models of the same year will be close, if not exact. You can alos trace by wire color. See which color wire is on the primer. it should be Black/yellow, I think....

Re: wiring diagram

the primer is energized by the purple/white striped wire

The previous poster mentioned a black-yellow wire but that is for the "kill circuit" which gets grounded when the key is turned ot the OFF position.

Re: wiring diagram

Ive checked that website but they don't have my model...

should the purple wire touch anything else before it reaches the red plug?

because if i take the multimeter and put it in the diode thing position and touch one end to the purple wire on the primer and the other end to the red plug..
im getting a reading on two or three pins in the plug... isn't that wrong?

and now another thing is that in the plug the one that goes to the engine has 7 wires.. and other side of the plug the one that goes to ignition has 8 wires

the wire that im missing is purple on the engine side .. there is a purple/white

ok here are all the colors

ignition side ........... engine side

RED ........... RED
BLACK ........... BLACK
GREY ........... GREY
BROWN ........... BROWN
YELLOW/RED ........... YELLOW/RED
BLACK/YELLOW ........... BLACK/YELLOW
PURPLE/WHITE ........... PURPLE/WHITE
PURPLE

Re: wiring diagram

The purple is the 12Volt feed to the gauges and any accessories while the keyswitch is turned to ON or START.

Many of the older small motors did not have any need for a switched 12Volt feed on them so there is no purple wire inside the engine wiring harness.
