Wiring a 1973 85hp Evinrude

I understand the red plug from the controller attaches to the red connector on the engine. What I dont understade is how do you get power from the battery to the engine and where do you connect the battery. Thanks

There should be 2 large battery wires coming from the motor. A red one goes from one side of the starter solenoid to the pos side of the battery. A black one that goes from the block to the neg side of the battery.
