im installing a bow troller, minkots 12V and i need to know what guage wire to use to run from the battery to the motor. I have one of those attwood quick connects that im going to put on my casting deck but need to run the wiring from my battery to the quick connect harnes under the deck. Id say i only need 6 or 7 feet just not sure what gauge wire to use. Here is the boat in installing this on and the project page. http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/projectTut,p,265,00.html u migot have to copy and paste it.

No smaller than #6, drewmitch. #4 would be even better.

Good luck. :)

Re: wire for trolling motor

Depends on how much thrust the motor has. 6 gauge is fine up to 55#. Don't forget to add a circuit breaker at the battery.
