So i am doing a lot to get this 93 johnson 150hp up and running from a long time storage. What can i do to Winterize it for freezing weather to have it ready to go in summer so i dont loose all the work i have done? I read the manual and will follow it. The manual has a gas mixture that includes 2qts of johnson fogging oil among other things to add to the gas to run before storage. But all the fogging oil comes in spray cans now. What do you all do or use?

Remove the air box cover and run the motor. Spray the fogging oil down the throats of the carburators until it smokes like hell and shut it off. Make sure the motor is tilted down and the water is all drained out. Your winterized.

Instructions should be on the cans.

Want to run the fuel out of the carbs so there is no syrup in the spring. Trick is to get it fogged as the motor shuts down from lack of fuel, but you don't need to be overly obsessive about timing the two actions.

I would run that engine with the proper fuel storage product like EV 2+4D as well as as EV Engine cleaner to circulate it in all the innards ...and then fog it

some run them dry I store fully fuelled... tank, carb and all. never have any issues at Spring time.

Easy stuff. Stabilize fuel. Run motor on flusher for a few minutes. fog all 6 carbs until you see some smoke and turn engine off. Let water drain. Change gear oil and use new gaskets. Spray powerhead with anti corrosion stuff. Clean and grease steering rod and motor zerks. Install hood and cover with breathable fabric.

I leave carbs full with stabilized fuel, w/o issue.
