16 degrees in Nashville this morning. Childs play for some of y'all, but that's arctic to us.

It always cracks me up when they talk about the "1st day of winter". Heck, by that time we have 2 months of winter under our belt..... And 4 more to go........:smow:

I remember in 1973 we had so much snow in Winnipeg one time that the base where we lived sent a apc to pick up my dad and others .I believe that winter it never went above -25f.My 64 chevelle with the mighty 230 six always started and was actually great in the snow .Just saw some footage of Erie P.A wow they sure got dumped on .Just got my commie fur hat so I'm good to go.

We had major dumps in and bitter cold in 20007/2008 and 2008/2009. Many -30 days, I think the coldest it was -37, not counting wind chill. It was brutal
In Feb 1989 it went from 8 or 9 above freezing to -28 in less than 6 hours, dropping to -35 overnight and dumping at least 36" of the white stuff in high winds. It was horrible

Suppose to hit 50 here in East Texas. Will try to get the Christmas lights down. Its forcasts low teens herer Sunday through Wednesday. Got food; firewood; and propane. We are inside!

White River early 80,s,-54f was the coldest ive ever experienced.Had to start a fire under the 460 marquis to get her to go.Pretty warm here today at -18.to -24

Looks like we may be under a Winter Storm Watch tomorrow morning. Possibility of freezing rain!

That'd lay a hurt on driving conditions, not to mention the citrus crops.

But at least it's winter now. :laugh:

East coat iboats friends be safe the next day or so.To those that may have never or very rarely see snow if you get it drive very carefully it can be deadly to the super novice .

I have friends and family up north who are "enjoying" the blizzard. :lol:

We had a hard freeze here overnight. It was 31 when I went to bed last night and 26 when I got up this morning. That's the lowest that my wife and the boy have experienced in their lives. They'd really like to see snow though. Maybe later.

Foot of snow and 60kt winds on Long Island NY this morning so far. Won't stop till dark. Have to pick up my son at 11pm at JFK airport. Gonna be a long evening of shoveling and driving. We are 50 miles east of airport and most highways are closed. Yeah me.

Clear the drive then shelter in place, son can do the same.
Too many variables with the flight and arrival anyways.
You'll spend 6 hours getting there, only to find his flight was delayed or diverted to ? Pittsburgh. !!!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

Gotcha Roscoe. I am tracking his flights from Amterdam to Heathrow to JFK online and will leave when I am certain he is landing at JFK. How long it takes to get there is another story. Snow should end and streets empty of vehicles by 10pm when I plan to start the expedition. Wife wants her son home ASAP 🌨🌨
