I still own eight motors that have carburetors. I haven't had to clean or rebuild any of them since I got convinced to switch to non-ethanol fuel. These are all seasonal toys, so they aren't running a ton of gas through them.
I also have a bunch of old stuff with carbs, including a classic car. They all are light use vehicles as well. When I used unleaded gas (as well as leaded gas eons ago) I used to have to rebuild carbs every 5 years or so.

We switched to E10 whenever. At the time they told us, they said they had been giving us ethanol for a few years already without our knowledge.

Anywhoot, I have not rebuilt a carb in more than 25 years. I attribute that to the fact that the ethanol keeps them quite clean.

It's funny how different people have different perceptions.

I totally appreciate all the tips from you seasoned mates! As for ethanol free gas, I envy you guys. I'm also into classic cars and motorcycles and there's guys on a lot of forums who say they have no issues when the run ethanol free gas. Unfortunately I'd have to drive an hour to find the nearest station with "good" gas.

Been busy with a lot of end of the year activities so the boats are still awaiting service. Next week I hope to get around to it. My current plan for storing my two main motors and it may prove to be a stupid one, is to stick them both in a large spare, clean, wheeled municipal type garbage tote. I think they'll both fit inside which will keep them from being in my way all winter and keep the mice out. My main shed seems to attract them like a magnet. This time of year I'm catching at least one a week out there.
