Re: Winter in Florida

Man,not sure if you are flaming or holding back some. You saw a piece of Florida in your quest to pick up a classic truck. I will need to see the piece that I chose to visit before I can form an opinion. Was it bad everywhere in Fla. or just close to where you picked up the truck?

I don't understand why we all pick on each other because of where we live. Summers suck here.

No, not flaming...and I don't mean to come off that way. My wife often gives me hell for being too curt sometimes with respect to 'opening statements' and such....my apologies.
My angle I guess is that people often don't understand that winter is a season that (believe it or not) a lot of people look forward to up north. There is a completely different sport and group of activities to do in it....and its beautiful from a scenery and pristine silence point of view.
With respect to Florida, maybe I have to give it another chance and see some more of it than what I saw in my couple of days that I spent there.
All good;)

Hahahaha!

kfa, you ever go to St. Augustine in the winter? The first time I slept on the boat that was to become mine was there in January 2002. It was 42 degrees at night, but 70 during the day. Man, I love that town!

While it might have been 32 this morning, by 3:00 this evening it was 74 here in Orange Park, and yes the fish were biting. Bad things is, wife says someone (She means me) has to work tomorrow, no fishing during the day i guess, unless I can sneak some time in during lunch. (One of the beauties of working by the ocean). Beach is at the end of the parking lot.

What's a speedo....LOL!

Sasto don't wear no stinkin speedo:cool:

Yup' the closest thing to a speedo for me is my skintight wet suit.

I'm not out to impress anybody, kfa. But sometimes I just can't help it. I would have no problem going out neked....but...oh....nevermind!

Hahahaha!

That is a great town to visit, Tilliam We. I've enjoyed every visit I ever made there.

Its been awhile, but St. Augustine is awesome. Oldest city in America too! Celebrating 500 years, I believe. I need to get back over there again soon. I'm not on the water like Harritwo, but it's only about a 20 min drive to the local beach in the pics. Although, it's finally starting to get chilly up here, so I'm gonna have to break out the fur lined speedo soon :)

Sad to report that Speedos are still worn here as 'beach attire' by vacationing Europeans. Urrp ...

Sorry to hear that V153. Thankfully, we're off the tourist trail up here, so we're generally spared that particular eye sore. Try not to stare directly at them lest ye go blind!

I'm in Tallahassee and the pics are at a local spot call Wakulla Beach, which is near the St. Marks lighthouse.

Ah, you guys in FL aren't the only ones still out on the water...
We still have a few hardy ones up here as well.

And no, it's not mine. I just seen it when I stoped to gas up on my way home tonight.

Yikes  - I've been late getting it out of the water before, but not THAT late.
