Odd thing going on with my T....r M..e windshield . This is on my 21 foot center console. It is not fogging or dulling like a head lamp but is getting to be quite annoying. At certain angles it is actually hard to see through, it depends on the amount of light and the direction of light.. On a darker days it is not so much of a bother There appear to be innumerable tiny fractures within the windshield. It is a popular brand tinted shield. I have tried the bug spray HEET remedy from Utube, it does not work. The composition seems to be impervious to my efforts. Does any person know how to deal with clearing up this problem.? What method may or does work.? Can it be remedied or is it just time for a new windshield.? Is this just the nature of the material used, some type of plexiglass ?.
Been bugging me for quite a while. I look forward to your replies. Thank you.

You can say Taylor Made.

Without seeing the plexi, it's probably time for a new one. Over time with sun and all the other things in the air, plexi can craze, which is what it sounds like you're describing.

I’m guessing you’ve tried a little of the headlight restore stuff?
If you decide replacing is the only option, doesn’t hurt to see if scratch removing compound and a buffer would help. I used it before on headlights and car plastic and it’s help. Not sure about the tinted plexi but it’s worth a try.

The plexi is CRAZED, the cracks are internal IN the plexi, not on it like a headlight.

Buffing wont help......

Crazed. That would be the word I was looking for.Yes, it does appear internal that is what I figured. I was hoping there was a solvent or something that might creep in and do some magic.. If you gentlemen dont know of one it most likely does not exist..I have been planing on replacing it but I hope to get a T top next year. When I get the T top I will begin a search for a new one. I want to add a few inches, as much as twelve in height to help keep my a bit drier. I am actually considering making one. How crazed is that. I have the existing from which I may be able to use as a pattern of sort. I was told that if I could use enough heat to melt then flatten out the old one I would have a pattern. WHat might my chances of success be ? I am pretty handy at most things but have not messed with this type of project.

the only way to fix crazed acrylic is to replace it.

check your local plastic companies. many hot-form acrylic and can match what you have

or call TMS and buy a new one. the acrylic windows are cheap....... its the glass windows that are a fortune
