will elec ign. conversion effect timing?

I got the hot spark conversion kit for my aq131D should I set the timing be the same with the kit? 6 deg btdc?

Yep you should set your timing just as with points. Just for curiousity, check how much dwell you have with the electronic ignition. I was having running problems with my Pertronix unit and I think it was due to insufficient dwell. I increased the air gap and now have 56 degrees dwell. Will see how it runs now.
