will an older Mercmonitor (not NMEA 200 8M0050765) work with the new Mercury Gateway

I had a Mercmonitor installed and found out it was an older style - does not have a gateway in it.
There is a new gateway from Mercury which will convert data to NMEA 2000 format. I have a Lowrance LMS 339 ( similar to the new HDS models) which can interface to NMEA 2000. The question is "once the gateway is installed will the GPS information show up on the Mercmonitor?".
I am not sure if the communications will work.

Hi there, Do you know the model of your Mercmonitor? Depending on the model you have, It seems it will work but you may be limited on the data you can read. Some Mercmonitors offer more features than others.

My best advice though would be to either call Mercruiser customer service @ 1 (920) 929-5040 or email them your question as they have a guy or two that's really up to date on what works or not. Contact MerCruiser Online | Mercury Marine
