slips at 1/4 throutle

1972 chrysler 45hp runs fine, when I go past 1/4 throutle rev high but no speed.

sounds like prop hub is slipping.

Agreed.
Sounds like you spun the prop. If it is a good prop find a local porp shop and get it repaired, will be like brand new when you get it back and will last for years. Or you can buy a cheaper aluminum prop at most boat stores.

Welcome to iboats.
Certainly sounds like a spun prop.
You may get a better response in the props section. You posted in the Johnson Evinrude section with a Chrysler motor.
Not having a go here but you will get a better response in the appropriate section.
