Will a 9.9hp Carb fit a 6hp Evinrude?

Just curious, not that I would try hopping up a little 6hp.

first it would help to know year and model # of both motors, there are a heck of a lot of 9.9 and 6's. you can compare part #s here, http://shop.evinrude.com/ also, you can get superceded #'s at ishopmarine.com to cross reference.

The 6hp is a 6904E, I would choose the carb from a 9.9 from the same vintage.

i just did what i explained to you. the 79 6hp carb is NLA, the 9.9 does not match.
