I have sought but not found. Any sources out there for pics and parts on
a WC cable steering wheel, '50s vintage.
Please advise, GH.

They come up on Ebay. What do you need for parts, there isn't much involved in them (the wheel, decorative wheel hub cover, shaft, pulley, 2 nuts & washers, & the through dash casting). The only source I know of that still carries some of the 'traditional' cable steering parts is Glenwood Marine (check their web site).

Re: Wilcox Crittenden Steering Wheel ?

Thanks for the reply,
In particular, I need a new shaft (insert tasteless comment here) or the
specifications so I can get a new one machined locally. The existing one
was so corroded that it had to be cut out of the mounting. I can piece it
back together to get the measurements but a drawing or replacement part
would be helpful. A new set of teflon bushings would also be nice. they are
of an odd size. McMaster-Carr doesn't carry them. Two parts need re-plating.
This I can handle through a re-plating shop. I am open to recommendations
for re-platers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The wheel itself is hard rubber over a steel frame. It needs a re-paint.
Suggestions appreciated. Thanks, GH
