Re: Wide Open Throttle

man, it blows me away how important every last bit of speed is to you bassmasters! you guys are nuts.

i wouldn't lose sleep over the comparision between the two boats. if ron doesn't have a gps reading, i find it hard to believe his speedo is very accurate at that speed.

Re: Wide Open Throttle

It's impossible to sleep at night knowing there just may be 1 or 2 MPH more in yer rig, hidden somewhere. The better it gets, the more efficient it becomes at all speeds, why not get every bit you can. That's the difference between looking for the highest potential or just settling for "OK", (the boat DOES move fwd). :)

And if ya think the Johnson is fast just think how fast it'd be with an E-rude....

Although it was a Johnson that won the national championship in Unlimited Outboard Drag Racing.

Kclost, all kidding aside, keep in mind that Ron's 60 degree motor makes a lot more torque than your motor. That makes it kinda hard to compare the two as far a speed even if you guys have basically the same boat. Its just a design thing.

We may not find all of that 5 mph youre looking for but I bet we find most of it.

Dh, keep in mind that my motor is only 150 and his is 175. Maybe the torque output is not any more????

Re: Wide Open Throttle

Ron, youre fine. The brutal truth is that although the hp ratings are similar the torque output of your motor is more. No offense to anyone but its simply new technology vs old. I'm sure we can help KC find some more mph just like we can with your rig once we have some verified numbers.

BTW -- I really like the 60 degree motors. I've had several and the one on my Dusky impresses me every time we go out.
