Why are the oldest postings on a thread NOW listed as the newest ?

I want the newest post to be first on the opening page of a topic.
Can not find any way to change it.

the site owners (outside of moderator control) have been under the hood a lot recently. there are a variety of format changes, font changes, main store front changes, etc.
