I just picked up a new project and am trying to find more information on what I have. The hull does not have an ID tag or serial numbers and I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify the year.

What I have figured out is that is was manufactured by the Invader Boat company out of Giddings TX. Almost everything that comes up when I have searched online is for gw invader ten footers which this is not.

The mec 650 four that is on it seems to be built in 1964 so that is possible but being an outboard there is a good chance that it has been replaced at one time.

Any information about these old Invader boats would be greatly appreciated. I prefer to know the history of any restoration project as much as possible.

Thanks

It might not be an Invader Boat. It may just be an "Invader" model made my some other MFG. in the mid to late 50's when "Fins" were the "IN" Thing. The invader Boat company of Giddings TX. started in about 1959 thru about 1969. It MIGHT be a 1959,,, but to me it looks a bit older. 56-57 models had that kind of Fin styling predominantly. With out some kind of tag or other markings there's really no way of knowing unless some member has first hand knowledge. You might post the pic on Fiberglassics.com. Those guys REALLY know the Classic boats!!!!

Thanks for the insight. It still has a partial Invader emblem on the back of the hull so I am pretty sure it was made by them. As for the fins, that's what I've been finding is that manufacturers slowed down on making fin boats very early 60s. It is possible that this is a first year invader then. I will get on fiberglassics and see if I can find something there.
Thanks again
