Re: Who does your oil changes?

Valvoline has some Valvoline Instant Oil Change places near me. Definitely a notch above the other quickie lube joints.

They seem well run and about half my oil changes take place there; otherwise, I do it myself. We have three cars and drive a ludicrous amount of miles. I can't have two Saturday morning's per month going to oil changes.

Might explain my love for 2-stroke outboards. :D

Re: Who does your oil changes?

You aren't alone. My local chevy dealer is fantastic. Very honest and they do great work. Sure their labor rate is a little higher but it's fixed right. And if it isn't fixed right, they take care of me. In troubleshooting a check engine light issue on our Impala they replaced an $80 part. That turned out not to be the issue and the light came on again. Took it back and it turned out to be a $200 part and I wasn't charged a penny extra. Unfortunately they are a smaller dealer and don't have a quick lube bay that I'm aware of. With small children, dragging everyone over there twice to drop off, and then pick up a car just to have the oil changed isn't worth it. So it's Jiffy Lube or DIY for me and as I said earlier in the thread, JL messed stuff one too many times and now I DIY.

Thanks EZ. I was beginning to feel like a freak.

And all this time I thought this was a BOATING web site.
Guess I will just have to get a trailer, truck big enough to pull the boat to a local Jiffy Lub to have the oil changed.
