Re: Who cooks?

I do all the cooking on a regular basis, Mr. LF loads the diswasher. I cook every night, we rarely go out to eat.

However, he is the master of the smoker and I don't get involved with any of that. His brisket, ribs and pulled pork are unmatched and he can also boil a pot of crawfish better than anybody I know.

Re: Who cooks?

We both do. Just depends on what is going on that day and who has more time.
That being said I would also have to say the fancier meals with all the fixins are done by my wife. My meals are either grilled outside or are quick 'meat and potatoes' type ones.

Re: Who cooks?

I do about 50%, lately Mrs Seville has picked up a couple "healthy" cookbooks...

I recently experienced a mild heart attack, so her concern is appreciated and welcome.
I have to say, though, that "healthy " recipes just don't seem to be as appetizing as, well, unhealthy ones!

I always do major holiday dinners, and she admits I am a better cook (the kids agree).

Re: Who cooks?

During boating season, I cook the meals on the weekends onboard. At home I do all the grilling/smokering outside. Mz Mayfloat does the rest. She picks up the phone and calls our daughter to clean the house, the other daughter to do the dishes. Yep, its hard job pushing those buttons on the phone..... :p I don't blame her, going to school and working a full time job, plus putting up with me.

Oh, forgot to add that during the "Holiday" (Christmas for us old folks) Season, I bake cookies,,,lots of cookies,,,,,many many cookies!. I make up boxes and give them to the girls in the office, and a box for each of the managers of the 9 stores I work for.

Thumb Prints, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Fudge, Sugar Cookies, and PenutButter bread cookies is a few that I make. Anyone have any good cookie receipes?

Re: Who cooks?

Camping trips it's all me. Home Breakfast; me, lunch; on your own, dinner; wife unless it's grilled. When I retired and she was still working, she is on long term disability now, I was given the option of dishes or laundry; I do dishes. As the future looks like a wheelchair for her I will probably be chief cook, bottle washer and laundryman: not a problem.

Re: Who cooks?

She cooks usually, I do about 10% of the time. I can cook, but she has been watching so much of the cooking channel I'm not allowed in there unless I plan to clean . . .

I do most of the cooking, but she does 100% of the baking. My wife can bake some amazing things.

Re: Who cooks?

Well, I think its refreshing to see how many men actually cook and partake in household duties. Kudos y'all.

When a couple is both working its really important to do your part. It helps keep a marraige happy and allows you both more free time if the duties are shared. :)

Re: Who cooks?

I started cooking at about age 14. I also do the laundry when my wife is working and sometimes even vacuum. I will not watch soap operas however.

LOL

Hey, I actually like to iron and do a better job than Mrs. QC. I also vacuum (to me it is very similar to mowing, you get cool patterns and straight lines etc), I do laundry at times.

BTW, I did ALL of our middle of the night baby feedings for all three. They were all on bottles and I got up and did that. She hates when I share that . . . :D
