don't forget #3 (tubing, seal).... also check both pieces for any cracks while ya have 'em off...............

also if any of tha exhaust ports are really clean ya may need ta take a closer looks at tha pistons and cylinders.........

Are you talking about the gasket at the exhaust plate or the gasket divider plate under the exhaust manifold? And would this cause an higher rpm overheat? And thank you for all yall s help.

Thank you.. would that make more sense why it overheats at higher rpm,? Maybe a blockage at the exhaust divider plate ? Dont know just asking trying to make sense of it all, its getting more and more frustrating. Thank you for responding, thought about looking for a mechanic but might be cheaper to look for a psychiatrist

Overheat at high RPM can be caused by compression leaking into water jacket, poppit valve malfunction, bad thermostats, clogged main jets, etc. Not sure if leaking gaskets cause overheat.

In your case, you might take a compression test.

You also might check poppit to make sure it opens at about 2000RPM. Otherwise, water pressure can get high.
