The site is hard to use and im lost when it comes to seeing threads that have been updated. I hate to ask a question then loss the post when the person answers a few days later. Im also finding it hard that certain links have been disabled like marineengine which has one of the best exploded diagrams of evinrudes that I have found. Its easier to tell someone to follow a link then point to the part that's broken then to play a guessing game. I always suggest that once you have a part number try iboats as its there forum but I guess that's no longer good enough.
The thing that really upsets me is that all the old pictures from don's posts seem to be missing and silvertips pictures are no longer found. So I can no longer link to dons and silvers pictures which just about makes the electrical forum worthless unless I plan to draw a diagram with every post.

I don't know about Don's pic links, but Silvertip deleted his PB pics because someone stole his work and he was protecting himself. I can't blame him.

Glenn, several things you mention won't change, like the competitor's links being redacted automatically, but missing pix in general should be resolved when the upheaval of the forum software upgrades, that went poorly, is rectified. As GA mentioned, SilverTip's won't be back.

Type a reply or a post, when you hit the Post Reply button, IF you get an error message, click OK which closes the error message & refresh the page. Your post should be present. I'm using FireFox & I can right click the screen beyond a post window, and choose reload from the options shown to refresh the page. The reload button at the end of the address line should work as well.

Many Topics (formerly known as threads) don't list an update to the main forum page they are listed under if you open a Topic there may be posts beyond what was shown on the forum page. Just another problem to be solved.

The pix uploader isn't working very well either, but Photobucket, or other IMG code pix seem to show up.

You will find several other bothersome oddities with the new software. Most have a work around to make using & posting to the forum manageable.........

Please know this same question of (where's all the pictures gone?) is awaiting a response from the guys able to let us know.

On my end, all the pictures are not visible, they are just boxes with an X in the middle.

If anyone is able to see any of the pictures in any part of the link below, please let us know what internet browser you are using. The reason I'm asking is due to I did already ask this question once last week with a reply that they can see them.

Oh no, where did all the old photos go? This link is normally used to find where all the Mercruiser serial numbers would be with photos. They are gone.:( http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engin...serial-numbers

The images are showing up for me. Are you still not able to see them?

Can't see MUSKY's but I can see MT's. (If that helps at all.)

I was just messin' around to see how uploading pictures worked. I usually use photobucket. This time I went thru the forum software. I found out Uploading Attachments initially doesn't work, post #7. Share photos(camera icon) works, post #6 snowmobile. If I use "share photos", submit the post, then went back and did an edit, I could get Upload Attachments working. Hence, the falcon in the tree pic, post #6. It posts the pic like Photobucket, which is cool.

It appears the reason why previous photos are not showing up is, the pix are now uploading straight from our computers and not going into an attachment file first, then uploaded to our posts. Since that file apparently doesn't exist after the upgrade, the old pix aren't showing up. Just like if you deleted a pic from Photobucket and the pic disappears from the forum. Maybe I'm being Capt'n Obvious....

I personally like the new way to upload, it skips the middle man per say. Now whether the old pix will be recovered remains to be seen.......

Is post #6 supposed to have the falcon in a tree? It has a pic icon above the sled - no falcon. But the share photos is working. I see the sled, MT's "You're doing it wrong" pic . and Kogs wake.

Do we have liftoff?

So,

Seems(call it just a bad feeling/premonition) at this point that none of our images we had uploaded and had posted with that were also default saved into our old libraries will be coming back(all old post images are remaining broken) which then of course in some of those posts, the content/crux of those post/s, were the integral images, so of course, this has left the post/s sorta useless w/o those images.

Should/can we as users try to help at this point in time, if we choose/want to, go back into(as time, fishing and retirement permits) those old post and fix those broken images in those posts?

That is, if we can. I have probably have 90 some % of the images saved locally, thumb drives, 12 other computers and what have yous, so I can, in theory, go back and re-upload/fix most of what I posted. Of course, I haven't posted 1000's of images as some have, but it's a start and will help some of the lost content in some of the posts.

Just a thought as I was looking back at some of the more image intensive related info voids that are now in all the older posts.....
