Where can I order online a transom shield gasket for a Volvo 280B. No boat shop for many miles. It is somewhat square in X-section. Also if I should use a sealer, what sealer should I get.
They are round in cross section, and comes to you as a rope, cut to length (just a little long to make the butt joint tight) and glue together at the top of the transom shield about an inch or two off center.
You can use rubber cement, bellows adhesive, contact cement or about anything to hold it in the groove while you mount the shield. Sealers aren't necessary.
