Where is the thermostat located for 1973 evinrude 135

Most of the older 2 stroke outboards did not have thermostats , my money is on your motor falling into that category.

Mr88--that is nonsense-------Most Johnson / Evinrude have used a thermostat since 1960.--Except for a few models such as 2 HP , 4 HP and 33 HP and some 40 HP in 1971 to 75 years.---On that 135 HP you find it below that exhaust bubble.----Not easy to get to to work on it.----Perhaps called a ----VERNATHERM-----in the parts diagram !!

??----The little housing on the back of the exhaust housing of the motor..-----Look for it on the ----EXHAUST HOUSING ----parts diagram.----Called a vernatherm.----Same thing as a thermostat !!!-----Nothing to it.----Your location ?

Well excuse me ! My Mercury's from the 60s ,70s and early 80s are all thermostat free.
