where is the regulator/rectifier??

I have a 2003 5.0 GL-C Volvo Penta motor. The tach stopped working but checks out as OK. I removed the tach and ran it on a friends boat and it works fine. It gets 12vdc of power and the needle "zeros" when I turn the key. The signal is is saying 9vdc but the tach will not move. I though I should check the rectifier but not sure where it is. Thanks Steve

The tach should be getting pulses from the ignition coil. You are meausuring the DC voltage from the coil...not pulses.

Make sure your ground to the tach is ok.
