Sorry, I've had a quich search, but I couldn't find anything, and I don't have much time. I need to get the boat out of the water tomorrow, it won't start and I'm trying to find out if I have a fuel, or a fuel pump problem. Is the pump on the engine and does it suck the fuel from the tank, or is it in the tank and pushes it up. Sorry I know zilch about boats and not much about engines.

MPI would indicate a cool fuel module .Why not describe whats happening cause those pumps are quite robust.

The fuel was getting low, so I topped it up with 4 , 5 ltr cans (20ltrs) of petrol that is about 2 months old. I drove the boat for about 1 km, then it spluttered and died, despite many attempts to get it restarted, - it only occaisionally caught, spluttered and died again. I'm thinking either condense water in the fuel, or a fuel delivery problem.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... 4 gallons ain't much gas in an empty tank, with slosh, 'n lean,.....

There's a water sep/ fuel filter on yer motor, kinda looks like an oil filter,.....
Pull that, 'n change it,....
Then dump the contents of the old one into a clear container, to see the crud yer pumpin' outa the tank,.....

Thank you.
The engine started this morning first turn of the key. I think it was probably condense water in the bottom of the tank that gave me the problem.
Today is the last day of our holiday so I'm taking the boat home, on Monday it goes in for an emissions test. I'll speak to the mechanic about the best way to keep the condense water out of the tank.
Thanks.
