Where is fuel sending unit for 2003 Crownline 226?

I know it's "on top the fuel tank." Visually following the fill line from the cap I can see the tank is either under the rear bench or under the floor. Before I guess which location it is by unscrewing and removing the bottom of the under-bench storage or floor panel (no access hole provided) I'm hoping someone might tell me which. Thanks!

Yes they're next on my list. I'm not sure how willing they are to answer a rookie question relating to an 18 year old boat but I'm not too proud to ask!

Not really a rookie question.
And they should be willing to help any Crownline owner in an effort to keep some goodwill and brand loyalty.

Hopefully they have someone available that has either personal knowledge of the specific model, or they have some records/plans, on how the boats were laid out.

Fuel level gauges are usually located on the middle to rear part of the tank. They have a better chance of being accurate in that location.

Figure 6-1 shows you where the fuel tank inspection plate is. Fuel sender should be under it.
