Where does the Purple Wire go?

Greetings All;
I found a long purple wire dangling behind instrument panel. I can't see anywhere that it should go. All nubs have wires and nuts in place. I've attached some pictures and a video. Couple of my gauges don't work, hoping this will fix em. There is a purple wire that connects to the Ignition switch and that wire is ganged to all the other gauges with exception of the speed ometer. It is a 1988 Searay

You don't say what year, HP rating, model, your Mercury/Mariner outbaord is

Should be Key Switched Ignition.
Should be +12vdc when the key is ON.

Purple is the switched 12V supply for your gauges.

There is a purple wire attached to the ignition switch. This purple wire is just dangling. The only gauges that work are the fuel gauge, and oil pressure gauge and rpms. The purple wire from the ignition connects to all gauges except speedometer.

I don't know the HP rating but it a 1988 searay, i/o w 4.3 mercruiser v6.

Since it's a MerCrusier and not a Mercury or Mariner outboard, you should have posted this in the MerCruiser forum.

I have a 1973 StarCraft with a 120hp GM inboard. I replaced the alternator and have different color wires. There's 2 red wires, a purple and a black and a orange with blue line.
