When to rebuild powerhead

My 1998 200hp EFI has 9 years of tournament fishing on it and has never been wrenched on. Although running fine, is it prudent to have it rebuilt now or wait for it to go south?

A few basis checks would give an indication of a problem.
I'd check the bore, (bore scope, or similar) then compression.
Other than that, unless your getting problems such as a drop in power,hole shot, idleing etc, I'd just leave it alone untill such time as some problems arise.
