I finally just fixed my fuel pump issue and rebuilt the carbs yet again just to boot and now I discover that the 2 left cylinders are cold to the touch. I replaced all 4 spark plugs and still nothing on those two cylinders.

This things seems to happen just because I can't wait to hit the water and try my "new" boat :)

A model # would help; could be several things.

Sure, it's: Model # 16AHCXKWB Serial #: J1148804 - I search the model number on google and it said it was a Seadrive 1.6L 87 115hp. So I think I have a seadrive powerhead mounted on a outboard midsection and lower unit.

Thanks for any help.

Get an open air gap spark tester, set it at 7/16 " gap and check your spark.

That serial number does not come up, so it's difficult to know just what you've got there. OMC did not make a 115 back in 87. The bubble back V4 that year was a 110-basically the same thing. If it is an 87, it will have dual power packs. You can test for spark by switching the two packs and see what happens to the spark. The misfiring should switch to the other head. If so-replace the pack.

emdsapmgr --> thanks very much for the suggestion. I does in fact have 2 power packs and I switched them and the problem moved, so I need to buy another pack.
Hopefully I'll find one today (Saturday) here in the Orlando area. I think the engine is a 110hp 87

Found a store that has them, the bad news is that's another $140,00 down the drain.
Thanks again.

I got a new power pack, installed it and now the engine just backfires. Feels like I'm chasing an evolving monster.

Possible you have wires to coils backward? #2 = orange,#4 = orange/blue, # 1 = orange/blue, # 3 = orange. Hope that helps.

Will, are you sure the color code is correct for cyl's #'s 2 & 4. I thought blue always went to the top ?

I rechecked and mine shows #2 = orange and # 4 = orange/blue; could be misprint?

Agree, you probably switched the power pack wires when you installed it. The orange wires with the blue tracer go to the two top cylinders. # 1, 2.
