I have found a plastic bait the will normally out produce a Senko. It looks like a lizard without legs, Its about 5" long and has a very enticing action as it sinks. It sinks about three times slower that a Senko of the same length.

LD, I have never liked them... Considering where I fish... They just don't work for me that much....

For working them through grass beds, they just don't work IMO... Just My opinion, by the way...:)

Well, after this talk about Senkos, I went down to Bass Pro shops here in Grapevine and lamost bought some. But man, $5.99 for a bag of 10 jsut proved to be to much for my cheap concious. So I grabbed a pack of wave worms instead. To tell you the truth I have never been a big fan of soft jerk baits, but what the hay. If they dont work they will simply join the ranks of other baits I dont use.

WS,,,

I have had "some" success with soft jerk baits but that's only in low pressure areas that haven't seen them before... Carolina riggin is the best method I've found to work any plastic bait through grass beds... But that's another story that you may not want to get into...

But I never recommend using any of those tripleX strike king baits or the Snap back baits that are similar... On they good side, they are indistructable, but if you rig them weedless I find that you have trouble hooking fish due to the resilency of the plastic...

Go with pure scented plastic... Good luck..
What you bought is probably just perfect...

I went today & picked up a 10 pack of 4 inch Watermelon with red & black flake (highly recommended everywhere) & a 6 pack of 2/0 Gamikastu extra wide gap hooks. (worms were 5.99 , hooks were $4.50 (I know the hooks are overpriced but it is my local bait store & I fully support them))
Anyways. I've only been back fishing for two years and have always targeted panfish.
Saturday I decided to throw cranks for bass & had a blast. In 3 hrs caught two 14inchers and a bluegill & perch that were about the same size of the bait (lol)
Anyways. I hope they work. I'm going early AM tommorow & have read lots of articles on how to fish them. (I'm using a 6'6 light action rod & reel with 6lb Fireline, I've caught some big bass & fully trust this setup)

And again, I don't see what the big deal is about the price. You guys will buy a $10k bass boat & $2.00/gallon for gas for it...... but won't pay $6.00 for 10 worms?
